  Oh so true David, been that way for longer than the current location. Been here 20 years and the ring leader has as well. They once again have both sides of sidewalk closed off so people have to walk in the street to get past. Not ok but been going on for a very long time. Started over on 37th street, than over to 36th street, then to MLK in front of Caltrans lot, back to 36th and than for about the last 2 years, under Freeway.
  Camp has expanded and there is a lot of younger, more ambitious bucks coming around and stealing out of cars and harassing women and men on the street and getting high. The alpha is getting old and soon there will be no leader. Also there have been multiple fires under the freeway (tents) and also in the wooded end of the park and in the Caltrans lot under freeway at corner of MLK and 36th. How about moving them down to the overpass at 30th street? Much more room and already a bunch of derelict vehicles. Come winter it will be worse. It always has been.

  Yes drug$ are the main problem. It took a lot effort but we are down to three to four illegal camper from over 90. They stay well hidden. We took our neighborhood back. The City council and PWD did nothing. Your spot is too large to pull that off but making it as hostile an environment as possible is what gets them to move on. Sadly they are here for all the hand outs, enabling and pandering from the city and there advocate. Also there addiction specialist are always close buy to help them.

  One of the guys yells at you whenever you pass by. It’s no longer a safe place to walk by at night.
